        After the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941
the nation was called to arms and a national draft began. Most men rushed to join because of the direct attack on the
United States Navy. 

Some articles are about conscientious objectors and how they were dealt with.  Still, by the end of World War II in 1945, 9% of the United States, or 12,209,238 men, were in military service.
